Back Contingency planning for Super Bowl 2016 – largest private jet event | Sterling Global Aviation Logistics

Sterling worked with the OEM and local service partners to ensure that key parts were available and could be delivered within 30 minutes to 1 hour in case of any technical delays.

Worked with OEM to identify key "no go" parts for contingency plan. Shipped and stocked parts at nearby locations. Coordinated with local Bay Area service partners to map out a readiness plan. Prepared routing guide from alternative locations to provide options for Next Flight Out, On-Board Courier and Charter services to the Bay Area.

Challenge

  • More than 1,000 private jets were expected to descend on the San Francisco Bay area for Super Bowl 50, making it one of the biggest private jet events of the year.
  • Customers paying between $35,000 and $85,000 for private flights to see the game expected on time arrival and departure. Hundreds of aircraft were to be stacked up for take-off once the game was over. Any technical delays could be compounded with the number of aircraft planning to depart. Private jet companies turned to their OEM for contingency solutions to ensure that key ''no go'' parts were available and close by. They also wanted an expedited delivery option in place for parts located in more remote warehouses.
